LE DÉJEUNER AU PALAIS
The King of France is having tart;
I wonder what's his favourite part?

The Queen prefers a little tongue
And Dukes compete to furnish some.

The democratic Dauphin's merry
Sampling all the servants' cherries.

The Cardinal doesn't care a jot,
He's busy with a honey pot.

But in his cottage wise Pierre
Is dining on more wholesome fare.
